Deconstructed PB&J Snack Board for Kids

As a great start to the week, I create a healthy kids snack board for our boys on Mondays! Sometimes I do a lunch board, other times breakfast but, mostly a variety of snacks and fun things they can pick from throughout the day. They love the variety and I’m grateful to say that nothing gets wasted. This week, I thought it would be exciting to put a fun twist on the good old PB&J. I’ve put together a deconstructed PB&J snack board and it’s all things delicious and nostalgic on one plate.

This board’s highlight: DIY PB&J sandwiches the boys could create for themselves. They loved the flexibility and independence it gave them. Not only was it a time saver for me but, the boys stayed occupied at our counter for almost double the time and had full bellies until dinner!

Ideas for a Deconstructed PB&J Snack Board

Fruit & Fig PB&J Board:

What makes our boys most excited about a PB&J board specifically, is that they can DIY their own sandwiches with whatever toppings they want, or simply dip into the nut butter and jams or preserves! I’ll grab a glass cloche to put over the top, leave it on the counter for the afternoon, and they’ll snack until a few hours before dinner time without feeling overly full!

To keep from the boys getting bored of the same options over and over again on their PB&J snack boards, I like to mix it up a bit each week! Screenshot and save the full list of items below that I choose from weekly! Some of our favorites are Ritz Crackers, Celery, Pretzels, Fig Jam, Pancakes (a PB&J Pancake is super fun!), and banana bread!
