Movie nights are one of our favorite things to do as a family. Once a month, we all sit together in one place to binge on pizza, popcorn, and screen time. With the release of Hocus Pocus 2, I was so excited to celebrate this movie night with a Hocus Pocus party! The cool weather rolled in so we were even able to pull out our projector and smell the woodsy aromas of bonfire out on our patio.

Hocus Pocus Party Details
What I love most about the decor I used for this Hocus Pocus party movie night is that it’s spooky enough for adults but cute enough for the littles! Since this was going to be a dark movie night for the boys, it was important that I leaned more into the magical, whimsical styles of a Hocus Pocus party rather than spooky & scary. The disco balls & custom printables were a perfect to pull in that magic!

Hocus Pocus Party Food
Because this was a movie night, we opted for pizza from our local favorite pizza place, popcorn, & some Hocus Pocus party treats!
Hocus Pocus MOvie Trays
One of the best things I’ve purchased for our movie nights, aside from the popcorn machine and projector, are these movie trays! Every single time I’m prepping for a movie night, without fail, the boys ask me if we will have these trays! They come in a bulk pack in Amazon so I always have them on hand and if they don’t get too gross, I fold back up and reuse! I fill them with drinks, treats, popcorn cups, and their movie ticket!, They even have pop-up drink sections too for cans and bottles!
- Movie Trays
- Bag of Candy Corn
- Skeleton Casket Boxes with Treats – Apple Cider Yogurt Pretzels, Ghost Peeps, Cookies
- Popcorn Cups
The boys are always excited when we pull out the popcorn machine to pop fresh popcorn. It’s always fun to theme the machine to the movie so, I created this custom Hocus Pocus 2 movie poster sign and taped it onto the door. The sign really leveled up the popcorn station and set the tone for the movie!
Magical Hocus Pocus Kid Tables
These magical Hocus Pocus kid tables were a PERFECT touch to our movie night! I don’t always set up a kid table for the boys when we have a movie night but, since we were going to be outside on our patio, I wanted to give the boys their own space to enjoy pizza and treats before we started the movie!

The boys absolutely loved the details on their table but, the family favorite: this DIY Book from the Hocus Pocus movies. This was an easy DIY using a fake Halloween book box from Dollar Tree. I glue a Dollar Tree eyeball to the front, Mod Podged paper towels onto the front and bind of the book, and let it dry. Then, I covered it in a few different shades of brown acrylic paint, and dabbed some antique gold rub-n-buff onto it. To finish it off, I added the “snakes” using hot glue! You could also purchase some fake reptiles to glue and paint the snakes onto the cover as well!
To keep with that magical and whimsical theme of Hocus Pocus, I filled Book with pink tissue paper and disco ball ornaments. I also scattered a few of those disco balls on the table to it looked like they were over flowing from Book. I LOVE how this turned out! Note to self: disco balls make any party setting better!
Cozy Movie Night Corner
This is one of my favorite spots of our home! It has the perfect viewing spot for our projector and gives the coziest vibes. To make it a little more magical, I hung these witch hats from our umbrella, decorated the table with pumpkins and Halloween themed charcuterie, threw a Boo blanket in the swing, and tossed some spooky cuties onto the sofa!
DIY Hocus Pocus Signs
Wooden Round Sign:
I absolutely LOVE this sign! Now that our movie night is over, I have it centered on our spooky bookshelves in our homeschool room and it’s ADORABLE! I used THIS wooden cutout from Michael’s & a wooden round from Hobby Lobby (similar one HERE.) I painted the wooden round first and sprinkles some star glitter onto it while it was wet. As it dried, I painted to Hocus Pocus pieces. I attached it using hot glue and added some plastic spiders from Dollar Tree!
Acrylic Sign:
For this, I used my silhouette cutting machine to cut out this design I created with light purple vinyl. I put it onto a piece of acrylic from Lowe’s and painted the back with black paint using a foam brush!
