It’s July 30 and I’m writing this post with a First Day of School countdown hanging on my fridge. To celebrate, as I always do, I’ve gathered some of my favorite back to school finds for the boys to give them in a back to school basket with these Back to School Pennants!
If you were to ask me what my favorite season is, I’d probably tell you that Back to School sits at a very close tie with Christmas. While our boys don’t physically go “back” to school, all of my final planning, gathering, list making, and stocking up happens for our entire school year in this season. It’s high stress, messy, super chaotic, but incredibly fun & soul shining. There isn’t much that brings me more joy than looking toward the next school year and all the plans we have.
Make the First Day Back to School Special
To make our first day of homeschool a day they always look forward to and remember, I decorate their homeschool space & gift them baskets full of back to school goodies. To make them a little more fun and personal from me, I add an extra touch with custom designed printable back to school pennant flags. The back to school pennant flags level up their baskets and since I design a different flag for each of my boys, they’re truly personalized to fit their personalities.
What’s in Our Back to School Basket?
To start out I use my favorite versatile baskets. These are awesome for gifted baskets to my kids because I can store them for later or use them to organize other areas in our home! This white metal basket is one of my absolute favorites! It’s the perfect size to hold books, folders, notebooks, & toys without being too huge!
The mini sage green crates were an awesome find in the Back to School section at Walmart for $1.98 & I couldn’t pass them up for the little boys’ baskets and as a way to store Brain Quest Decks & Flash Cards!
Their baskets this year may have topped out at my favorite back to school baskets so far! The school supplies came out strong in so many of the stores with the most adorable designs I’ve seen in a few years.
