Our family was so lucky to have been hosted by The King and Prince Resort. Although, we received a complimentary stay as well as dined and played “on the house”, all opinions featured in this post and those associated, are my own.
Last Friday, we set out for one of our most favorite beach adventures, to date! St. Simons Island called to our family like no other beach yet, and we were ecstatic to have stayed at the ONLY beachfront destination on the island- The King and Prince Resort. Our two-bedroom villa overlooked the water and gave us all the space needed for our family to enjoy three days together without yanking each others’ hairs out!
We were especially delighted to have had complimentary early check-in THREE hours prior to our scheduled check-in time! TOTAL WIN! We were able to arrive early, unload, change, grab a bite, and set out for an adventure on our first day!

With so many fantastic, amazing, and luxurious things about The King and Prince, it was tough choosing just 5 but, when it comes down to it, these 5 things made our stay easy breezy, memorable, and left us feeling like true royalty!
1. Kid Friendly without Overcrowding
As a traveling family, the kid-friendliness aspect is always a priority for us when choosing a destination! The King and Prince had so many amenities and fun options for the kids but, the best part? For us parents, even being on a trip with our kids, it was almost like we were on our own private vacation at times! There were just enough other children in the pools and on the grounds to keep our littles entertained but, not too many to feel like we were outnumbered at the resort with people 5 and under!
2. Food
Okay, when asking the boys they even voted this into our Top 5! The food at The King and Prince is phenomenal! We dined at Echo, their signature restaurant, for every single meal during our stay and to say that we left completely satisfied would be a major understatement! Upon arrival, we were all ready for full bellies so, we hopped over to Echo for a quick lunch and after my three course meal and James’ massive burger, we were ready for adventure and seriously, didn’t think we would even have room for another full meal during our stay but, because the selections were so delish, we opted for breakfast fit for royals (twice), lunch by the pool, and dinner the following night that was nothing short of amazing!
Don’t forget to ask for the complimentary fresh baked oatmeal raisin muffins! We took some to-go at each meal for snacks while we went exploring and they were to die for!
K thoroughly enjoyed the Shipwreck Ice-cream that, of course, was the grand finale of each meal during our stay!
3. Private Setting
The feel of privacy of the beach and pools were some of our absolute favs at The King and Prince! All guests at the resort have easy access to the beach below Echo’s patio and beyond! When traveling to a tropical locale, we try our hardest to find the most secluded beaches possible! Low-populated beaches make our trip all the more enjoyable since we’re not battling crowds for a space large enough to let the boys run freely without running into someone else’s umbrella or kicking sand on another family’s towel set-up! The quiet beach below the resort gave us so much space and area for the boys to run for the entire duration of our visit! We never once had to worry about fluffing our towels and sanding the neighboring beach goers, involuntarily sharing our toys with another little one roaming the beach, losing eyes on the older boys as they ran and played, or even finding a space within seconds of the shower and pools!
4. Room Size
When vacationing as a family of 5, it can be super difficult to stay longer than a single night in a typical standard-sized room. Small, shared spaces gives everyone in our fam jam a little anxiety at times. With the older boys picking fights in such close quarters, it only leads to what the neighboring rooms probably think is an epic World War. We were incredibly grateful and over-the-top excited when we walked in and saw the size of our villa! The boys had their own large separate space with a door enclosure (pure awesomeness). It included a full-size bathroom and bedroom with a massive bed! All three brothers slept in the bed without issue on the first night, and on the second- Col hacked into his new found “oldest kid syndrome” and crashed on the sofa in the living area!
We had the most beautiful, serene view of the ocean and enjoyed an evening breeze every night before bed after putting Linc down! This was probably number one in our decision of wanting to make The King and Prince an annual trip for our family!
**Another huge bonus: A full laundering set in one of the kitchen pantries helped make our trip all the better! Coming home from vacationing with a massive pile of dirty laundry is every mom’s nightmare. On the morning of our departure, we popped in a couple loads while packing up and came home with not a single piece of loose dirty laundry!
5. Amenities
Even with the family friendly atmosphere of The King and Prince Resort, Echo’s incredible food, the quiet beach, and massive size of our room – nothing quite topped my list the way the amenities did! There were things about this resort that took our stay from a regular holiday to a treasured & memorable family vacation! A shaded sand box for littles, three swimming pools, immediate beach access from several points on the grounds, a shallow splash pool for kids, an enormous rock fire pit, walking (or bike riding) distance to downtown, spacious walkways, more poolside umbrellas and chairs than we could count, and the flawless service made our trip absolutely phenomenal! We were terribly sad to say goodbye but, can’t wait to say, “hello” again next year! Linc is totally missing the sand box now that we’re home!
