Over the last few years, adding a few extra boys into our family circus has meant more clothes and lots of laundry piles on the sofa. To minimize the amount of times I have to relocate a laundry pile from the sofa to another part of the house when we have friends over, I’ve made a huge effort to eliminate pieces when they’re too stained or don’t fit anymore. My biggest mom flex though: capsule wardrobes, especially our boys’ Fall capsule wardrobes.

Why I love Capsule Wardrobes for my Boys:
All 4 of my boys have their own individual style. While sometimes they are known to share or duplicate tee shirts, their styles are each unique and consistent to them. Once of the joys of homeschooling and not having to wear uniforms is that we can see them shine through their style and they’re always comfortable. I love giving them the opportunity throughout the seasons to reuse what they still love from the year before and shop for a few fun pieces to add to their closet. Of all the seasons, shopping for the boys’ Fall capsule wardrobe has become our favorite. It’s a season when we see a lot of hand-me-downs from the big boys and they always gravitate towards mustards, olives, and tans (my personal favorites).
Capsule wardrobes give us the opportunity to afford new staple pieces that our boys truly love and pass them down for years to come. Rather than splurging on big shopping trips once or twice a year, we pick up those few staple pieces each season and usually save with the current discounts.

Where to shop for a Boy Fall Capsule Wardrobe:
Some of my favorite places to find pieces to add to their capsule wardrobes are Old Navy, Gap Factory, H&M, Rags to Raches, and Target. They’re all pretty quick with shipping, affordable, and most of them have discounts! Sizing up is key to lasting through a second season, so we do that often! I’ve gathered up all of our pieces from this year’s Boys’ Fall Capsule Wardrobe, BONUS: Get the entire closet for just under $200. The key here is to shop those discounts, grab your loyalty or enrollment coupons, and pick up to save on shipping where available!

- Carhartt Beanie – This one is a staple that all of our boys own. They live in these beanies come Fall. A great color and perfect staple piece for any boy.
- Great Bambino Hat – Our boys grow out the winter coat on their head this time of year. We take a break on haircuts and let them live free with the long hair so, more than ever, they love a good hat. This is a favorite for our oldest. It’s the perfect size and shape for a tween boy and has a cool vintage vibe.
- Vans Camouflage Hat – This one is a great stylish piece to add for your little guy who likes the “extras” in life. Our second oldest has a passion for all things leveled up so, this is a hat he grabs often.
- Yellow Puffer Vest – We have these in every size. They’ve been passed down and lived in for many years. A great additional to any boy closet for family photos, a chilly morning that transitions into a warmer day, or just casual wear.
- Camo + Colorblock Sleeve Jacket – Love this. Size up for to wear for a few years and keep as a hand-me-down later on if you have a group of boys in your fam like we do.
- Yellow Microfleece Shacket – The shacked trend is still here and I hope it’s here to stay. This keeps selling out so, grab it when you see it!
- Mandalorian Tee Shirt – As a Disney loving family with boys who’s daily wear is a Mandalorian costume, this is a must. It’s inexpensive and can layer over a long sleeve tee for cooler weather.
- Burgundy Thermal Henley – Another favorite that we repurchase when the boys size-out. I love the color of this and the henley buttons on the front. It’s warm, trendy, and timeless.
- Rust Long Sleeve Utility Pocket Tee Shirt – A new favorite this year! This one keeps selling out in the rust color so grab it while you can!
- Black Solid Long Sleeve Tee Shirt – A staple to our boys’ Fall capsule wardrobe. Black tee shirts are something we keep on hand for layering or simply wearing solo.
- Skinny Jean – A good skinny for a boy is like the perfect mom jean for women. I love these and if I could, I’d stock up on them to make sure we never sized-out here in this house!
- Desert Driller Rag Romper – This one is a little more of a splurge but, size up and you’ll have it for a long time! GREAT to layer under a shacket/jacket and they’re incredibly soft. They wash well and to me, are worth every penny.
- Tan Jogger Pant – Our oldest loves a good jogger pant. The cinching at the bottom, the drawstring waist, I don’t know what it is but he could honestly live in these.
- Nike Court Legacy Sneakers – This is another full-time staple here in our home. When we go through a pair, we hand them down and buy the newest size. They wear SO well and are definitely a “live-in” sneaker for boys. For the price, you really can’t beat it.
